Edouard Manet- the start of Impressionism -May 2nd 2011
Manet was a very important artist in the history of Impressionism.
The reason i do want to post this cool guy on my blog is not only because he is the finder of Impressionism, but also he has a very similar name with "Monet". HAHAHA!
When i was in middle school, my dad brought me to art museum once. And that day the show was for Manet's painting. The one i really like is Young Flautist
Ths painting gave me a big shock and i feels like the young boy in the painting is standing out from the painting.

Édouard Manet (23 January 1832 – 30 April 1883) was a French painter. One of the first 19th-century artists to approach modern-life subjects, he was a pivotal figure in the transition from Realism to Impressionism.
His early masterworks, The Luncheon on the Grass (Le déjeuner sur l'herbe) and Olympia, engendered great controversy and served as rallying points for the young painters who would create Impressionism.
